How to Thrive in Lockdown - Week 2

In my previous post I talked about becoming really aware of your negative thoughts and emotions by writing them all down. I also mentioned some coaching exercises you could practise to help you feel more positive each day.

I hope these practises have helped you feel better in this first week of lockdown.

For week 2 we can take coaching a stage further by talking about limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs keep you stuck in your current pattern. They limit your thoughts as to what is possible for you. You may already be aware of some beliefs. You may have uncovered some in the work you’ve done on your thoughts already. But some limiting beliefs are deeper than we can easily access. As these unconscious beliefs are having an impact on your feelings and your actions it's really beneficial to get some awareness of them.

You’ll be pleased to know that it's actually really easy to do this with a life coach if you are open to doing so. It's also easy to change these limiting beliefs to empowering beliefs that propel your forwards and make life feel just oh so much easier. So much more simple.

Your Coach will ask you powerful questions that uncovering your beliefs. Through coaching you’re given space to think. You're in a partnership with your coach. You do the thinking and the talking. You're listened to without judgement or assumptions. This enables you to have real moments of clarity, magical breakthroughs, aha moments.

You’re supported and guided to take your limiting beliefs and transform them into new empowering beliefs that guide you in your day to day life. You're asked to make a plan to reach any goals you set and you're kept accountable to achieve them.

Coaching helped me to realise that I was letting Mum guilt do the talking and that I had too big expectations of myself each and every day. These expectations weighed me down and unknowingly to me were the reason I was running out of energy and struggling to enjoy the time I spent at home with my daughter. Can you relate?

Our beliefs around being a Mum and what we think is expected of "a good Mum" directly affects our energy levels and subsequently how we show up for our children each day.

Our thoughts and beliefs create our reality and if you are holding onto a lot of negative beliefs such as "being a Mum is hard work", "the daily life is a struggle" or "I don't feel I'm doing enough", you struggle to keep your mood, patience and energy levels high.

I hope this has helped you to understand how important mindset work is. My free guide talks you through this in more detail to help you to work out what thoughts and beliefs you need to work on so that you can dramatically improve your day to day reality.

If you want to feel empowered in your day to day life, get rid of the Mum guilt and experience an amazing relationship with your family, my free guide will help you with just that. To download it click here and enter your email address and you will receive a link straight away.

Wishing you all the best.
